Graduation Time!

The Primary School I work with is GRADUATING! I feel like a proud parent! I was in the "Front Row" camera in hand! The students were excited and so was I!

First Visitor!

I arrived backed to Dominica on Thursday at about 6:00PM and one of my bestest, Courtney came to visit me the next day! There was many back and forth to the airport for me in just two short days. It is about a 1.5 hour ride that is beautiful but long!

Man did we have a GREAT time! We did about half tourist items and the other half was Peace Corps activities. She was able to assist with my Therapy group, after school arts and craft projects, and a 4-H project.

The lovely tourist events we did included snorkeling, beach laying, whale watching, hiking Boiling Lake, waterfall seeing, jumping off rocks, and hanging out in the village. It was a GREAT transition from being at home and coming back to Dominica! She is lovely and is a perfect fit for Dominica!

Third Time is a Charm!

One of my nearest and dearest came to Dominica to visit me for about nine days! We sure pack those nine days as much as possible! We did some Peace Corps activities (My after school arts program, Therapy, and a 4-H event!) but we also did some tourist activities (Snorkeling, Whale Watching, Beach Laying, etc) and BOILING LAKE! Yes I have done this hike THREE times and it get easier every time! It is just a beautiful hike! Courtney (My friend from the States), Alicia a PCV, and Brother Jon our Guide, all went and enjoyed the beautiful 'walk' as Brother Jon kept calling it!

Courtney took all of these pictures so it is fun to see it from her eyes!

BINGO!

I work with five students once a week in the Grade 3 and we have been working on Sight Words. I told these five students if they learned all of their words we would play BINGO with the words. They completed their end of the deal so I completed mine!

Math Room!

One of the teacher at the Primary School I work with took a leave to continue her studies at the Teaching College. She had a final school year project where she donated a "Math Room" to the school! The room is filled with many many resources for teachers to teach all grades of math and in different areas: adding, subtracting, multiplication, division, money, and the list continues!

I am back!

Man I do not even know where to begin in all honesty! This has been the longest I have gone without Blogging! So much to catch up on but instead of digging way into the the past two weeks or so I am going to keep it as present as possible.

About two weeks ago, on a Friday night I decided that I was going home on Monday, so that is what I did. Booked a last minute ticket and I was on my home for about 11 days. After about 23 hours of awake time and five planes later, I was home safe at my sister's house! It was a BLAST to be home, to go to Target, to eat Mexican food, but most importantly I enjoyed my time with my sister and nephew, visits with Grandpa and Grandma, and just the daily duties of home! It was a crazy eleven days of haircut(s), zoo with Boo-Bear, Tiger Game, teeth cleaning, and shopping!

OoO Mine! I almost forgot! The BEST part was all of the suprising I got to do! It started with Grandma, then Mom at work (even though she knew I was coming home she did not know I was going to see her at work), then my Father, and then my Bestest! It was AMAZING!!
