Changes

ARIES: March 21 – April 20
If you are an 'early Aries', life has got to be looking a little crazy. Those of you who were born in the later part of the sign are probably working out a less electrified version of this. It's hard to know what to say to any of you at the moment because the scenery in your neck of the woods has "change" written all over it. If there was ever a time when it would be totally appropriate for you to rearrange pretty much everything, this is it. I guess the only advice I can offer you is: trust life, let out all the stops and know that whatever's going on, this is no time to hold back.
Basically I am addicted to the Horoscopes in the Real Detroit Magazine that come out every Wednesday.  Since I am no longer living in MI, I check my Horoscope online almost every Wednesday because they seem to be very true to where I am in my life.  This week is no different.  So many changes are coming my way! I am starting to apply for career, I graduate in June, and things in my personal life seem to be falling right into place.  I am excited and nervous to see what my next journey is! All I know is I am going to continue to put my self out, make things happen, and simply EMBRACE life!

Day #1: Blizzard Hike

Sunday late morning, my girls and I piled in the car to head on our journey! We decided to stop in the South of CO to hike and stay for the night.  After about 3 hours of driving we stop to hike Hanging Lake.  As we got out of the car, we felt it was cold but did not realize what we were about to get ourselves into.

It was about 1.2 mile hike each way, no big deal at all.  We were about 3/4 miles into the hike and it started to thunder.  After the thunder came rain.  After the rain came hail.  And finally after the hail came snow and wind.  It was COLD.  Our poor fingers were very cold after the hike to say the least.  We are brave and strong ladies so we made to the hanging lake.

Wondering about the 'falls' I mentioned in the first blog.  This girl fell twice while hiking.  The first fall I had, there was no injury! I ended up slipping, rolling over, and landing on my stomach while stopping myself from falling down the hill.  I hear it was graceful.  I am thankful for my volleyball rolling skills and my gymnastic genes. During the same hike, I had another fall where I ended up falling right on my bottom and hiking my tail bone pretty bad! I survived! :)

Mini Road Trip!

It is my last official Spring Break since I will be graduating in June 2012. Two of my girls from the program and myself went on a Road Trip to Moab Utah! Our adventure was three days of hiking through a blizzard, cleansing our pores in a vapor cave, 16 totally tunnels traveled through, 12 hours of driving, two falls (On done beautifully, the other left a mark), 12 miles of hiking, and endless beautiful sights!

Check out the blog for the full stories of my 3 Day Mini Road Trip!

Nuggets Game!

Players Warming Up Before the Game
Sometime last month in the middle of a snow storm, my friend Allie and I bundled ourselves up and we headed to the basketball game. The Nuggets were playing the Lakers we thought it would be fun to go. We got there early enough where we could walk around the Stadium and even get a close up of the players warming-up.  Not that I know any of the players but it is always an interesting experience to see them up close and personal.

The Players Being Announced

The Nuggets ended up losing by under 5points and it was a really good game up to the end.  Even with the loss (which I don't care too much about), it was marvelous to catch-up with Allie and be in the atmosphere of the game

How I Feel Most Days...

I have decided to live the life I live.  A life where I move and shake and meet amazing people a long the way.  I saw this quote on Pinterest, while I should have been doing work. This quote explains a lot of my life at the moment.  I beyond blessed with amazing individuals in my life! They are family in one way or another.  If I went around missing them all day long I would be even more of a Hot Mess.  But what it is, it is random moments when I am doing something and I have a thought of "I wish .... was here!" I just know ..... would totally understand and appreciate this!

Life is a crazy adventure and I hope this quote always rings true to me for it means I continue to have amazing individuals around the world that love and adore me!<3

Sitting in Silence!

Well, this may be a heavy topic to start off with after not writing for over a month but it is on my heart so I want to let it go.

Today was a different day for me at my internship.  I was pushed to a limit I was not aware that I could handle and put in a situation I was unfamiliar with.  This is not about how my limits were pushed but rather how my client took a huge and fearful step with my support and her friend's support.

She is my age had been through unbearable situation that I can never imagine so I did not claim to understand.  My role was to be her personal cheerleader, a non-judgemental individual, and another person that believed her.  During the process, I spoke maybe 100 words in an hour, but I sat with her, mostly in silence, but I was worth her.  My words were of encouragement and to give her strength.

Many times individuals just need you to sit with them.  Not to understand or pretend to know what they are going through but to sit with them.  Most of the time people are not looking for answers but for someone to listen, to listen in silence and to silence with non-judgemental ears.

After a day like that, all I need is someone to say "That sounds like a tough situation... I am proud of ya!" (which is what a friend of mine told me after I told him the story).

Even a Social Worker needs a cheerleader in her corner and some validation!

Skiing!

Myself, Anna, Nate
Last week I learned how to SKI! I have never been Skiing before and now I think I may be addicted! I had such a great time, even though the chair lift scared me and made me very nervous! Anna, Nate, and Myself went skiing at Breckenridge which is a popular Ski Resort in Colorado! We spent the whole day there and I am proud to say I got off the bunny hill and only fell down THREE times! Not too bad for a learner! I did have two really good coaches! :)

I am hoping to go again maybe next month and next year I may even get a pass! I can now put skiing into my list of hobbies!
